Compagnie Yadre, danse contemporaine franco-taïwanaise

YADRE — Franco-Taiwanese contemporary dance company

YADRE was co-founded in 2021 in Paris by choreographer and dancer Shihya Peng and composer and digital artist Alex Bouvier. YADRE explores the space between heritage and invention: a dance where the traditional meets the contemporary, where digital sounds and images extend the movement.

They have been associate artists at L'Onde, Théâtre-Centre d'art, since 2025.

They are also involved in several cultural action initiatives: territorial artistic and cultural residencies in schools with L'Onde Theatre, an "Artist in School" residency with the City of Bobigny, artistic and cultural education projects in dance with the CN D (Centre national de la danse, Pantin), and workshops at École Jeannie Manuel in Paris.

Alex Bouvier

Alex Bouvier

Alex Bouvier is a composer and digital creator. His work seeks the tipping point where sound, light, and image are no longer at the service of the performance but become its living material.

Trained in composition at the Aubervilliers-la Courneuve Conservatory alongside Jonathan Pontier and then at the Paris Conservatory, he entered the world of live performance early on with Compagnie Shonen. Collaborations followed with Alessandro Sciarroni, Jann Gallois, Kitsou Dubois, River Lin, and Mélanie Perrier. He also creates sound and visual environments for immersive installations with Visual System and Sébastien Lefèvre, from the Palais de Tokyo to the Gaîté Lyrique, from Théâtre Chaillot to the Wonderfruit festival in Thailand.

In 2021, he co-founded Compagnie Yadre with choreographer Shihya Peng. Their shared research, between traditional Chinese dance and digital arts, gave birth to Never Enough (2025, Théâtre de l'Onde), a solo where AI video, electroacoustic music, and body memory respond to one another. Their next project, R.I.T.E., delves into the folklore of Taiwanese processions to invent a new stage ritual.
